HeRe ToDaY, gOnE tOdAy. GoNeToO sOoN.

It seemed cruel in the very suddenness of it, harsh in the abruptness of its reminder that there are no guarantees and that the next breath — the very next breath — cannot be taken for granted. Here today, gone today. Gone too soon. Jackson’s death left those of us who grew up with him groping for resolution, words of summation in a moment when words of all kinds are elusive as smoke….

We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50. Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. Seems that when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back. A cardiologist at tells TMZ Jackson died of cardiac arrest.
Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.

The 50-year-old musical superstar died Thursday 25 June 2009, just as he was preparing for what would be a series of 50 concerts starting July 13 at London’s famed 02 arena. Jackson had been spending hours and hours toiling with a team of dancers for a performance he and his fans hoped would restore his tarnished legacy to its proper place in pop.

Harrowing leaked autopsy details show the singer was a virtual skeleton — barely eating and with only pills in his stomach at the time he died. His hips, thighs and shoulders were riddled with needle wounds — believed to be the result of injections of narcotic painkillers, given three times a day for years. And a mass of surgery scars were thought to be the legacy of at least 13 cosmetic operations!

Jackson's golden casket — crowned by a magnificent spray of red flowers, was laid for him to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills. His casket was buried just a few feet away from the remains of his long-dead career. Jackson's mother is to be the temporary guardian of the singer's three children — Prince Michael Jr., 12; Paris-Michael Katherine, 11; and Prince Michael II, 7.

No joke. King of Pop is no more…
